Doreen Bolger: Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Radical Social Activist Who Lies Behind His Better Known Stained Glass and Jewelry

March 20: 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm

From 1862 to 1865 Louis Comfort Tiffany received his early training at Eagleswood, in Perth Amboy, NJ, which was run by the remnants of the Raritan Bay Union, a utopian community. This likely had a large influence on his thinking as he launched the Associated American Artists in 1879, which emphasized collaboration and cooperation, and began his famous decorative career. Doreen Bolger, club member and former director of the Baltimore Museum of Art, will give us new insight into this phemonemal artist.
