Community Projects

The Woman’s Club of Roland Park supports Days for Girls, Sisters Circle and Sojourner Place at Oliver Library, among others. To date the Club has raised more than $6,000.00 to support Save the Children, Ukraine.

Days for Girls

At Days for Girls (DfG) workshops, we sew and assemble feminine hygiene kits for distribution to girls around the world (including in the U.S.A.). DfG International addresses the problem of period poverty; it is estimated that 500 million females of reproductive age have NO access to period products. Girls miss school and women miss work as a result.

We make products that are well-designed, washable, and reusable for up to three years. At the Club, we take over the dining room, spreading out equipment, fabric and supplies on nearly all the tables. The fabric is colorful; the camaraderie and sense of purpose are inspiring. All you need to bring is yourself, the expectation of fun, and a sandwich for lunch. We have all the supplies, machines and know-how. Days for Girls

Sisters Circle

Sisters Circle is a comprehensive, relationship-based program designed to mentor girls from disadvantaged Baltimore neighborhoods. Through the program, Club members cultivate one-on-one relationships with at-risk girls beginning in middle school, throughout high school and into college.

Thanksgiving Drive

Starting in October, the Club collects donations to benefit the Sisters Circle Thanksgiving Grocery Gift Card drive. The campaign seeks to provide a Thanksgiving meal to every girl in the program and her family. Each donation of $75 buys one gift card. With guidance from her mentor, each girl plans, shops for, and provides a special meal for her family.

Sojourner Place at Oliver Library Project

Sojourner Place is a subsidized apartment community in Baltimore City created in a partnership with Health Care for the Homeless and the Episcopal Housing Corporation. TWCRP library project collects relevant books and financial donations to support the library at Sojourner Place.
