Celebrated social reformer, abolitionist, writer and statesman Frederick Douglass was born into slavery in Talbot County, Maryland, in 1818. Two hundred years later, Club member Carlisle Hashim began a Frederick Douglass podcast series about the Great Liberator. Her compelling 16-episode series includes interviews with three Douglass descendants and a Cork, Ireland, scholar, as it traces the life of Frederick Douglass, the slave, to his liberation.
