Dr. Amy Bastian: Human Movement Control
February 4, 2027: 1:15 pm - 2:15 pm
Human movement control is extremely complex, yet we normally take it for granted, only becoming aware of the challenges that face the nervous system when something goes wrong. Dr. Amy Bastian is the chief science officer at Kennedy Krieger Institute, where her research focuses on understanding how complex movements are normally learned and controlled, and how damage to specific brain areas impairs these processes. The goal is to work towards devising rational rehabilitation approaches.
