Jack Burkert: Women of Baltimore…Who Made A Difference

The history of Baltimore is one of individual and collective actions that enhanced and improved the city. The names Pratt, Hopkins and Patterson are well known; but these men were not alone in acts of boldness, of courage, of humanity. There were dozens of Baltimore women, little known, even unknown, who made a difference with their work and their commitment to the general welfare. Historian and author Jack Burkert presents the lives of several Baltimore women whose actions, whose lives, improved the lives of others – locally, nationally, internationally.
